My Story

I began my recruitment journey in the late 90s, entering the industry as a frustrated customer who couldn’t understand why it was so difficult to find the right people for the business. With no prior experience in sales, customer service, or even an office environment, I joined a high street recruitment firm, confident it couldn’t be as challenging as it seemed—and, of course, attracted by the potential earnings.
I quickly realised recruitment was more complex than it appeared. People can be unpredictable, so staying agile and solving issues on the go became essential. Early on, I developed my own approach by reconnecting with lost customers, taking a problem-solving stance, and building relationships—an approach that has shaped my career ever since.
In the early 2000s, I moved into IT recruitment, excelling in both permanent and contract roles. My interest gradually shifted towards the strategic and operational aspects of the business, leading me into Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) contracts. This was where I found my calling—building trust with clients, streamlining processes, and improving profitability, all while assembling and leading high-performing teams.
After managing the BBC account for 12 years and overseeing major portfolios, I moved into my first Operations Director role. I later worked with James Caan in Private Equity, helping to establish and grow recruitment businesses worldwide. Now, my focus is on supporting small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), recognising that while recruitment founders are often innovative and driven, they may need operational expertise to help scale their business efficiently.
